“Definitely the place to stay in Invercargill, highly recommend.” Ingrid, Auckland

Invercargill concert Juilliard415 brings New York to the city

A chamber orchestra of young musicians hailing from famed New York university Juilliard will soon perform right here in Invercargill. Guests at The Lodges can’t go wrong if they attend an Invercargill concert featuring a world-class performance. It promises a wonderful evening of live entertainment.

If you still need to be convinced, The New York Times describes Juilliard415 as a group that plays with “consistent poise, and hair-trigger responsiveness” under artists such as William Christie, Jordi Savall, and Rachel Podger.

For their New Zealand tour, Juilliard415 is going to perform under the leadership of early music legend violinist Robert Mealy. Under his guidance, the musicians will showcase a programme that will contrast two baroque styles. You don’t need to be a student of music to admire the talent on the stage before you – it’s beauty is obvious.

The Civic Theatre is one of Invercargill’s most-admired buildings. Guests keen to see the interior design as well as the architecture will be delighted by what they discover inside. The Civic Theatre is an elegant place to enjoy a show – and to see an Invercargill concert featuring musicians of such a high calibre will be the ultimate way for guests to experience one of the city’s architectural jewels.

Juilliard415’s Invercargill concert will be held on Friday 13 March at 7.30 pm.
